This festival is grandly celebrated in all parts of India, as today we celebrate the birth of Lord Rama, the son of King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya of Ayodhya. Ram Navami is celebrated on every ninth day of the Chaitra month, during the Shukla Paksha. This date is considered according to our Hindu calendar which is the Gregorian calendar.
Lord Ram was the seventh avatar of God Vishnu. It is believed that God Vishnu incarnates on earth in different periods with different avatars to destroy the evil and to show the path of nobility and honesty."
Lord Ram was called by the name of "Purushottam" Pursha symbolize 'man or spirit' and Uttama symbolize ' highest or greatest' with the whole meaning which means " Supreme in all the man's", "Supreme being", "Supreme God".
Maharishi Valmiki, The author of Ramayana, describes the whole birth chart and life history of Lord Ram in their holy book "Ramayana".
